Petitioner appealed Respondent’s recommendation to deny his application for a teaching certification. Petitioner pled guilty to conspiracy to defraud state of political subdivision and false writing pursuant to filling unauthorized prescriptions and fraudulently submitting those prescriptions to the Georgia Medicaid Program for reimbursement to the pharmacy in the amount of $717,516.98. Petitioner failed to file an answer to the assertions in the Notice of Hearing and failed to appear at the hearing. The Judge determined that the gravity of Petitioner’s conviction supports the Respondent’s denial of Petitioners application. Thus, Respondent’s decision was AFFIRMED.
