The Professional Standards Commission (“the Commission”) was not authorized to revoke the teaching certificate of the former superintendent of McIntosh County School District because it failed to demonstrate that the superintendent knew of allegations of a sexual relationship between a student and a high school teacher.  The campus police chief’s testimony that he informed the superintendent of specific allegations was found not to be credible because he failed to mention that he informed the superintendent of the allegations during an interview with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and he did not adequately explain why he did not himself investigate, if he indeed knew of specific allegations of child abuse.
