I am pleased to welcome experienced litigator John E. Hennelly as our newest Administrative Law Judge.

Prior to joining OSAH, Judge Hennelly served as a Senior Assistant Attorney General, and Section Chief of the Environmental Section of the Office of the Georgia Attorney General.  He has extensive experience in handling complex litigation involving the State of Georgia’s environmental and natural resources, and providing legal advice and representation to state agencies.

“Having practiced primarily in government and administrative law for over twenty years, I am well aware of the significant role administrative law judges have in ensuring the proper application of the law by state agencies and it is my great pleasure to join this well-respected agency and be a part of that process,” said Judge Hennelly.

Judge Hennelly earned his law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.  Prior to joining the Office of the Attorney General, Judge Hennelly served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Judge Hennelly currently resides in Gwinnett County with his daughter, Jennifer, who recently graduated from the University of Georgia.
