Drug possession conviction results in suspension, not revocation, of teaching certificate.

The Professional Standards Commission (PSC) is authorized to sanction an educator’s teaching certificate due to a conviction for misdemeanor drug possession. Mitigating circumstances, however, justified a reduction of the sanction from revocation to a ninety day suspension followed by a monitoring period.
