Multiple challengers sought the disqualification of Marjorie Taylor Greene from her re-election bid for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District seat.  The challengers alleged Representative Greene did not meet federal constitutional requirements to hold congressional office, citing the “insurrection clause” of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.  After first determining the challengers bore the burden of showing Representative Greene had engaged in insurrection, the Court ultimately concluded the challengers failed to meet that burden.  Representative Greene was therefore qualified to run for re-election for the 14th District seat.
