Petitioner appealed Willie Saunder’s eligibility to run for judge of the Superior Court of Augusta. Petitioner argued Saunders was ineligible to seek office because Saunders defaulted on federal taxes for the tax years 2004-2009. However, the candidate showed that he was making payments to the tax authority pursuant to a payment plan. Thus, he was eligible to run for judgeship.
