The Board sought to suspend Respondent’s medical license until he complies with the Board ordered mental/physical exam. Respondent operated a solo psychiatry practice for 30 years. In 2009, Respondent treated a patient for bipolar disorder. The patient sought help for multiple issues, including her inappropriate relationships with men. During her sessions, Respondent put his arm around her, hugged her, and at one point physically carried her into his office from the waiting room. Additionally, Respondent proposed a dating relationship with the patient. Respondent admitted to the Board that he was attracted to the patient and wanted a relationship with her. The Board ordered Respondent to submit to a mental/physical exam. Respondent refused to submit to the exam. Based on his unprofessional behavior and refusal to submit to the Board ordered exam, the Judge SUSPENDED Respondent’s license indefinitely until he complies with the mental/physical examination, completes a course in medical ethics, and pays a fine to the Board.
