OSAH Mediation Training Furthers Quick and Inexpensive Alternative for Litigants

OSAH has established an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) process to provide for the speedy, efficient, and inexpensive resolution of disputes. Specifically, OSAH provides mediation services to litigants at no cost. OSAH mediations utilize the Uniform Rules for Dispute Resolution Programs, which have been adopted by the Georgia Supreme Court for contested civil actions.
To advance its ADR program, OSAH sponsored a week-long mediation training for its judicial staff in October 2013. Attendees included: Judges Stephanie Howells, Kimberly Schroer, Steve Teate, Kristin Miller, Lois Oakley, Barbara Brown, Patrick Woodard, Ana Kennedy, and Michael Malihi, as well Staff Attorney Dominic Capraro. Judge Ronit Walker and Staff Attorneys Shoshana Elon and Laurin McDonald are already registered mediators with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.
The training was provided by Robert Berlin, Carolyn Raines, and Leland Collins of The New Decision Management Associates.
