A candidate for State House affirmatively established that he resided in the district for which he sought office approximately eleven months prior to the date of the election. However, the only evidence the candidate presented to support his contention that he resided in the district during the preceding month, and thus the entirety of the year preceding election day, was (1) his own testimony that he resided with his father at that time and (2) the fact that he changed his address on his driver’s license. The Court concluded that such evidence was insufficient to establish that the candidate met the one-year residency requirement, which was subsequently upheld by the Fulton County Superior Court.
